HOW IT BEGAN

As a child
Daren LaVoi started young with the visual arts. As the son of an art teacher , Daren received the same lessons as the students weekly. Additionally, the inspiration of having two grandmothers whom were painters and a mother whom was a music teacher helped lend to Daren's liberal arts background.
His series of presidents are early examples.
At the age of 6, Daren's drawings of notable presidential figures such as Lyndon B. Johnson and George Washington were created.
Daren LaVoi currently resides in south Minneapolis where he maintains a Sunny Day Studios. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts from Gustavus Adolphus and a study at major museums of Europe and the United States.
